Henan Vocational and Technical College of Transportation originated from the cadre training class of the Henan Provincial Department of Transportation, founded in 1953. It has gone through the historical evolution of Henan Provincial School of Transportation Cadres, Zhengzhou Transportation Vocational School, Henan Provincial School of Transportation, and is affiliated with the Henan Provincial Department of Transportation. It is an engineering college with a long history of education and distinctive characteristics in transportation. In 2004, with the approval of the People's Government of Henan Province, it was independently upgraded to a vocational college; In 2008, it was approved as a "demonstration higher vocational college construction unit in Henan Province"; In 2014, it was named the "Civilized Unit of Henan Province"; In 2015, it was designated as a "Henan Province Vocational Education Brand Demonstration College"; In 2015, the province took the lead in carrying out targeted training and direct recruitment of non commissioned officers. In 2016, the scale of non commissioned officers ranked first in the province and second in the country. In 2018, it became a post doctoral innovation and practice base in Henan Province. In 2019, it was designated as a national high-quality higher vocational college, and in 2020, it was rated as a civilized campus in Henan Province.
